  • From Sanyo, this is the Super Toasty oven, a two-tiered oven that takes up minimal space yet offers enough room for toasting bagels, hamburger buns or open-faced sandwiches. The Super Toasty toaster lets you brown bagels perfectly every time: placed cut-side down, the bagels' thicker tops warm from the top while the cut sides crisp and brown more deeply. Use the top rack for melting cheese on open-faced sandwiches or broiling the tops of mini pizzas. Use the bottom rack for reheating or keeping food warm. For timing your foods, the Super Toasty oven comes with a 15-minute bell and an auto shutoff. For easy access, the racks with metal trays slide out when the door is opened. The Sanyo toaster oven comes with a removable crumb tray and a cord storage holder.

  • Sanyo SK-7S Space Saving Toasty Oven, Silver Reviews By Customers
  • We've had a series of these Sanyo vertical toaster ovens for about 30 years now. Every 5 years or so we buy a new one, not so much because the old one breaks (I don't think any of them broke) but it just gets so crummy looking with the heavy use we give it. The exterior paint and trays become burnt and/or discolored, and we happen to see a new one so nice and shiny and can't resist. We rarely use it for toasting just bread, but more for mufffins, mini pizzas, chicken nuggets, etc. The main downside versus the single level toaster ovens is that you can't get something thicker than an inch in, and even something much thicker than half an inch can brown/burn unevenly because it's pretty close to the heating element. Other than that, no complaints, and I'm about to buy our latest model.

Sanyo "Toasty" oven putchased from Amazon - A. T. Veley - Houston, TX
This Sanyo "Toasty" toaster oven is a replacement for one purchased at least 15 years ago. We liked it because it takes very little counter space and does an excellent job of toasting. We bought a new one because, after remodeling our kitchen, we wanted the shiny silver model. (One of our sons is getting the old white one for his new house.) You can toast on the top or bottom separately or both at once. Sanyo SK-7S Space Saving Toasty Oven, Silver You will love this toaster!

Was great until the knob broke off - Homer Bartlett - Atlanta, GA
We really liked this "toasty" oven. It has a nice size and shape, and we learned to work with its lack of true oven features (like setting a temperature). Nine months after purchase, however, the oven selector knob broke off, leaving it permanently set to top rack only. When I called Sanyo service, they said the unit is discontinued and there are no parts available in any of their warehouse and offered no further assistance.

[...] is being great about accepting it back and offering a refund, but since there are still some of these units available (and in white as well as stainless), anyone considering purchasing one should assume they will get no warranty love from Sanyo and will need to return the unit to the seller if it breaks.

Disappointed and surprised. - B. J. Christopher - Oklahoma City, OK
Timer knob broke after a few uses. Uneven toasting and baking. Very poor product. Disappointing and surprising because my other kitchenaid appliances work fine.

Unreliable with safety issues - wenfei - Texas
The KitchenAid brand typically stands for a product that is well made, reliable, and performs as stated. Obviously toaster ovens are not an area in which this company excels. We have had this toaster oven for only a month now and the mode selector mechanism has already failed! While turning the knob from toast to bake, I heard a metallic snapping sound as I arrived at WARM mode. After that, the knob just spun freely. Now I have an expensive warming oven! Since my oven is out of warranty, I decided to take it apart. I discovered that the switch mechanism was intact, but the knob itself was broken. Using a flathead screwdriver, I pried the knob off and twisted the switch back to toaster mode with pliers. The knob easily snaps back into place, but still spins freely. Cheaply made and unreliable! I also noticed a potential safety issue with the rack that is included. There is nothing to stop the rack from sliding out of the machine and onto some part of your body. On a number of occasions, that rack has come out while I was retrieving hot food. If you don't control your reflexive nature to stop the rack from sliding out, you could potentially burn a hand. God forbid if a small child is standing near you when the hot rack falls out onto the counter or floor.

Piece of junk from the start - A. Chanhboury - Honolulu
Bought this toaster from BestBuy because it looked nice and the removable tray for easy cleaning. But from the start, this toaster was a bust. It takes forever to heat up and you have to pre-heat even for toasting. Less than two years, this over priced toaster is TOASTED. Checked with KitchenAid for replacement parts but they don't make parts for this model. I'll never buy anything that says KitchenAid again!
