Disappointed and surprised. - B. J. Christopher - Oklahoma City, OK
Timer knob broke after a few uses. Uneven toasting and baking. Very poor product. Disappointing and surprising because my other kitchenaid appliances work fine.

Unreliable with safety issues - wenfei - Texas
The KitchenAid brand typically stands for a product that is well made, reliable, and performs as stated. Obviously toaster ovens are not an area in which this company excels. We have had this toaster oven for only a month now and the mode selector mechanism has already failed! While turning the knob from toast to bake, I heard a metallic snapping sound as I arrived at WARM mode. After that, the knob just spun freely. Now I have an expensive warming oven! Since my oven is out of warranty, I decided to take it apart. I discovered that the switch mechanism was intact, but the knob itself was broken. Using a flathead screwdriver, I pried the knob off and twisted the switch back to toaster mode with pliers. The knob easily snaps back into place, but still spins freely. Cheaply made and unreliable! I also noticed a potential safety issue with the rack that is included. There is nothing to stop the rack from sliding out of the machine and onto some part of your body. On a number of occasions, that rack has come out while I was retrieving hot food. If you don't control your reflexive nature to stop the rack from sliding out, you could potentially burn a hand. God forbid if a small child is standing near you when the hot rack falls out onto the counter or floor.

Piece of junk from the start - A. Chanhboury - Honolulu
Bought this toaster from BestBuy because it looked nice and the removable tray for easy cleaning. But from the start, this toaster was a bust. It takes forever to heat up and you have to pre-heat even for toasting. Less than two years, this over priced toaster is TOASTED. Checked with KitchenAid for replacement parts but they don't make parts for this model. I'll never buy anything that says KitchenAid again!
