This toaster is wonderful. The tray at the bottom is easy to remove and clean. There are 2 heated bars at the top and bottom. I use larger sliced bread so it fits 4 slices. I think it heats evenly. When I toast pizza that I get from Trader Joes, it makes it crisp and perfect. It gets hot quickly. It has a timer. I think it looks nice. The door opens and closes nicely. I have had this for about 6 months and I love it.

We bought this toaster about 2 years ago. We loved it until this morning. Luckily none of us were in the kitchen when it happened... after being on for about 2 minutes the glass door EXPLODED! I couldn't believe it. There was glass everywhere and it looked like a bomb went off inside of it. I will NEVER buy this brand again. My 1 year old plays in the kitchen all the time and she was in there about 5 minutes before it happened. It's one thing to stop working after a while but to explode... that's just unrealistic. I contacted the company and they were willing to send me a new toaster if I sent them a check for . Um, your toaster exploded in my kitchen... I'm not going to send you money. That's all they would do so I said no thanks and am buying a black and decker with good reviews.

This is a great product, it was my second purchase for same product, I purchased the first set at home, it worked great, good quality, the timer not too loud, and its inexpensive. When my office needed a toaster, I purchased the same model to be safe, everyone love it, and my co-worker purchased one set for her home, so far no complaint, Euro-Pro should pay me commission.

There is only two slots to put the slotted tray: too close to the top burner...or too close to the botttom burner. The solid cooking tray will only fit on the top....needless to say, it doesn't cook evenly.

I wanted a basic but reliable toaster oven. An older Black and Decker version we loved finally gave in and I purchased this one after reading one positive review. I absolutely hate this oven. The timer slips and stops clicking but does not turn the over off. It is a fire hazard. A few times the oven kept toasting and I finally noticed the smoke and burning smell. I usually use the "light" or "medium" setting but one of us has to literally stand next to the oven while toasting to manually turn it off. I wish I returned it right away.

I cannot believe this product can be legally sold. It is CONSTANTLY accidentally setting itself to "always on" and has caused two fires in my kitchen so far. It has completely melted down nearby plastics (even when not touching the product at all) and even destroyed my nearby coffemaker by melting a dime-sized hole in the water reservoir side. The timer switch has a horrible design flaw that leaves the toaster oven for HOURS if you don't catch it. Amazed I still have a house.

It looks like the product may be discontinued, which is good. Maybe they didn't want to get sued into oblivious.

I love this oven and have been looking for one for about 3 months locally. No one carries it. All are dial or digital now. And huge. I love this one because of the toast button. I use it for baking and heating. I have a great microwave but often prefer the conventional heat this oven affords without heating the full oven for a quick meal. The toaster has worked great for me from the beginning and started to take longer to toast and then the toaster part burned out. I have had no problem cleaning it with a little SOS pad and it looks great and doesn;t take much room on my counter top. I have owned this toaster oven for 6 years and just recently the toaster option burned out but the oven still works. I broil my toast and turn it over for the other side. I do wish it had sound to indicate the toast was done. I tried the dial toaster oven and hated it. Returned it for a 93.00 credit. Love the option to push the button to toast and choose the setting you want for browning of the toast. Have had problems too with getting busy and not realizing it was finished and the toast gets hard and cold before I get to it. But could live with that if I could get another one like it. If I can't find another one I will have this one fixed. Overall, I love it!!!!!

This oven cannot seem to comprehend "toast". It seems that once it reaches a certain temperature, it just shuts off the heating elements. It doesn't matter whether the item is toasted or not. Sometimes, it turns back on in mid stride. Either this is a think-of-the-children type of safety feature or a defect. Regardless, it is going back to the store.

Since I don't own this product yet this is not a negative or positive review but instead is an answer to some reviewers here who insist that this model has a bell which rings when the toast is done while others say it does not. The reason for the confusion is confusion over model numbers. TRO962 has an electronic timer for toast timing and does not have a bell. TRO964 has a mechanical timer for toast timing and does have a bell. The two models are otherwise very similar. I found this out by going to Sears which claimed to have the TRO962 (and so the sign said on the floor display along with "electronic control" on the features list) but examining the floor stock showed the model number to be TRO964 with the now ubiquitous mechanical bell timer (which I do not want) I'm afraid the TRO962 has been discontinued and I'm in search of one.

Black & Decker Ruined a Good SpaceMaker Toaster/Broiler Oven - EKGL - Ridgeland, MS
If I did not really want my toaster/broiler under the cabinet I would either return or throw away this piece of junk. The old SpaceMaker oven had a heat shield easily attached under your cabinet and the oven just slid in. With the new model you cannot see where the screws attach to the heat shield. Installation is difficult and I was not provided the length of screw I needed to install the oven. The oven cannot be installed if you do not used screws exactly the right length to install the heat shield. Had to buy four from a specialty store. The old oven allowed you to set how you wanted your toast browned and each day you just pulled down a little lever and you were good to go - now you turn the dial past 10, turn it back and hope for the best. Also, the hooks on the glass door attached to the tray pulling the the tray out when the door is opened have been removed. Now I must get a hot pan holder to pull the tray out. Have only used the broiler once - finally moved the item to my regular sized oven. Black and Decker is known for quality, user friendly items. I am very happy with my yard and tool items. However, Black and Decker needs to clean house in their SpaceMaker division.

Like some of the other reviewers, I purchased this toaster oven without consulting these reviews. What a mistake. I bought it because it was the only unit on the market designed to go under the cabinet. I immediately wasn't thrilled with its toasting ability or the overly simplistic knobs that don't allow you to preset the toast level. The hood was not only difficult for us to install (despite the fact that we had installed several in past years), it was downright dangerous. I wasn't the least bit surprised when the whole unit fell off the mounting hood after just two months. B&D offered to send me a new one but it's been back-ordered for more than a month, with no end in sight. I finally returned the whole thing in disgust. Now it's back to the drawing board. Why doesn't anyone else make an under-cabinet toaster oven?

Bracket is a PAIN - annette -
Bracket was a PAIN to install and even worse to get fastened into place. Screws were NOT long enough, had to hunt down a new set of screws in the right size and threading(3 stores later) Used screws from my OLD oven bracket. Cut off the long ends and STILL had trouble getting the toaster clipped in right. B&D should have kept their old bracket design that you could unplug toaster and just slide it off/on whenever you need to empty out crumbs. This one will have to stay put!!
