  • Why a convection oven you ask? The answer is simple: cook up to 30% faster and cook foods more evenly. A fan gently circulates the heat. The Exact Heat sensor maintains precise oven temperature for baking and broiling while the shade control memorizes up to seven brownness settings for toasting.

  • Cuisinart TOB-165 Convection Toaster Oven/Broiler, White Reviews By Customers
  • I have just started using a toaster oven, so I'm still getting the hang of incorporating it into my everyday life. This little appliance works great! It is easy to use and doesn't take up much counter space.

I don't use it nor intend to use it for toasting bread (I have a regular toaster for that). I purchased a toaster oven so that I could still do oven cooking without heating up the entire kitchen in summertime. Where I live it is nothing for summer temperatures to exceed 100 degrees plus and this is just what I needed to accomplish the small oven tasks. The convection is a nice feature also. I have not used the broiler setting, but so far this great little appliance does everything I had hoped for!

When cooking is done, I find the alarm is loud enough. Some things that I've seen people complain about are no light inside (like a regular oven) and when timer goes off the oven should turn off - these may be useful, and perhaps would be options on higher-end appliances, but I think this toaster oven works fine.

I do have to remember that the entire outside of the oven gets hot though - the cool white paint can be deceiving. I would recommend having enough space on your counter to give it ample ventilation for any cabinets above as well as on the sides.

I also purchased the drip tray liner also to help with clean up and everything so far is working fine.

A great toaster but our handle broke off - V. Morton - CT, USA
Love this toaster. We've had ours for years. But the white plastic handle broke and we cannot find a replacement for it anywhere. So now we have to throw out a perfectly good toaster oven because we can't open it. Also, I'm not sure why this price is so high. We got ours years ago for under 0. Definitely not worth the price listed here!

Great when new but not built to last - Richard Peterson - Burkesville, KY, USA
Cuisinart toaster ovens consistently get rave reviews, because they are well designed and work great WHEN YOU FIRST GET THEM. The sad fact is that they are not built to last. After 2 years the paint around the door of our TOB-165 was burnt, bubbled, and cracked. Now at 3 years the plastic control membrane surface is starting to split. None of this would happen if Cuisinart had used temperature resistant materials. Maybe I am unrealistic to expect any small appliance to last more than 3 years. This oven needs to be replaced but I don't know if it is even possible to buy quality any more.

Delonghi = defective by design - S. Smith - West Chester, Pa United States
We had a rude awaking today, our Delonghi toaster was on fire. I will never again buy any Delonghi product. The defective design is in the toast switch. It is mechanical. When it finishes toasting, it sometimes continues to the "Always On" position thus leaving the toaster oven on toast: very, very hot. We literally had a house full of smoke & a toaster full of flames. You were warned.

Funny thing is, Delonghi makes an attractive product.
Sad thing is, they can cost you your house or worse.

  • Euro-Pro TO251 Convection 6-Slice Toaster Oven with Pizza Pan Reviews By Customers
  • This oven is a really nice large size with room for a round pizza pan! So far it has cooked most foods very well but the only issue I seem to have is that it cooks faster on one side. The left side seems to get browner than the rest of the food; though I had this same problem with my last convection oven so maybe it is a design flaw. Or maybe it has to do with the heating element. Other than that, it is a very good oven and convenient to have if you do not want to heat up the large oven in the summer.

great lil toaster oven!! - SCRAPPYHAPPY -
I ended up taking two different ones back before getting this one. I got this one and LOVE it...it heats up fast and works great! the other two took forever..good deal too!!

Okay but racks don't pull out well - Gary P. Gross - Greater Los Angeles Area
The toaster oven is big, and there is a rack and pizza dish specifically shaped to handle a 12" pizza as advertised. There are 3-4 different levels to put in racks. The oven heats food well, although the timer and temperature are not precise because they use turn knobs. The main problem (and only reason I would think twice about buying this) is that when you pull a rack out, the front half pulls out okay, but as soon as the rack or tray is halfway out, it tilts up or down as you pull it because the "guides" on the sides of the oven that hold the trays at one level have a break halfway inside the oven. This is okay except if you have a particularly heavy item or if you have two or more items on the same rack. In those cases, once the rack is halfway out, the rack will tilt very quickly and you have to be very careful pulling it out the rest of the way so you don't spill your food item. In some cases I have had to reach into the back of the oven (and it is deep!) to right the tray or dish before pulling it out. Overall this is a good item, but this is a design flaw that would make me think twice about buying it again. Probably best to try out toaster ovens in a store first and then look for deals online. I did find Rudy's Deals (through Amazon) to be the cheapest deal on this oven on the web, and it was delivered reliably and quickly.

  • Even after reading some of the poor reviews I decided to try the toaster on my own. In general I agree with the fact that the glass that faces the back of the handle could've been much better insulated or protected, however, as long as we keep in mind that this is an oven and should be handled with care I don't believe this is too much of a problem. The oven itself is a great machine. It heats up items thoroughly, the knobs seem to be of a good quality, it looks great in our kitchen, the convection fan is not loud, it is very roomy, and the price is not very high. As far as price goes, I reviewed some models of other brands that were in the 5.00 range which were, in my opinion, very comparable to this one in features, looks etc. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone.

Dangerous, for sure - N. Tardiff - Boston, MA
I'm with M. Mohrman on this one. I just bought the toaster yesterday and used it today for the first time. I received burns on the back of two fingers when I went to grasp the handle to open the door. That metal strip gets burning hot and is a serious design flaw. A friend suggested putting a strip of padding and some duct tape to cover it up. HA! That toaster oven is going right back! I'm going to read the rest of the reviews on Amazon to figure out which one to get next, so, hopefully, I won't get maimed again.

Great Toaster Oven - DR - Chicago, IL
I purchased this toaster oven about 2 months ago to replace one that caught on fire while the wife left her toast unattented (she used the tempature setting rather than the toast setting). I really like this toaster oven. The convection setting is great for frozen waffles, chicken nuggets, pizza, frozen bread, toast, etc. The waffles are cooked evenly and to perfection in 3 minutes without pre-heating the oven!! The oven looks great, however it is a bit larger than most others. The oven seems well built and so far no issues. Keep in mind it is an oven and will get hot!! Use the handle to open the door, that is the intended purpose, and you won't get burned. :>)

  • We really like this toaster oven and have used it successfully for over 3 years. I will admit that we do not use it for toasting bread, it simply takes too long because of it's size. But I use it multiple times every day for cooking and warming food. Since we do not use a microwave due to the research that I have read about it causing cancer, this oven is indispensable to me. I don't like to turn on the big oven unless I really need to, and this little one is perfect for most jobs.

Don't buy this - Kim - Chapel Hill, NC
I loved this thing when I first bought it, but I should have read the other reviews because the are 100% correct. It toast unevenly but I accepted that. What I don't accept is the oven function not working anymore so now it just works as a toaster. What a piece of junk.

Great until it stops working - C. Phipps - FL
I used this for a few years for toasting and baking without complaint. Then, like the other reviewers of this product, it simply stopped baking all together. The toasting feature still works, but I rarely used it for that. It's now junk and will need to be replaced.

worked great for a little while..... - shop mom - Florida
When I spend close to 0.00 for a toaster over I expect it to last at least a few years. Not this one. I used it occasionally to reheat chicken or on a rare occasion a piece of toast. I have not used it 25 times in the 10 months I have had it and the top element just stopped working. The bottom still comes on but not hot enough to work properly. I had my old Black & Decker for 10 years and only had to replact it because I broke it accidently. I will never buy another Cuisinart. You are paying for a name but not for a quality product. Buyer Beware.
    D.C. in Florida

Toaster function no longer works - it flashes off................. - Angry Chef - Stamford, CT
This toaster oven worked OK for 4 years.....now the only way to make toast is to use the broiler function....which can be dangerous as it doesnt switch off automatically like the toaster function! Result can be a lot of burnt offerings and/or a fire. The toaster will not work but flashes off........after its used in the broiler mode and heated up then the toaster will work if one uses the broiler for over 4 minutes - by which time one has already toasted ones toast!

There is obviously some kind of issue with the toaster timer funtion......Cuisinart say that there is no way to fix the problem. Cuisinart has (HAD) a good name but this product is made in China so I cannot see how its really any different from any other Chinese junk. One just pays a lot more for the "Cuisinart" so-called-quality "brand".

Just how much longer will Cuisinart be a quality brand I wonder?

  • I have had this toaster oven a few months now and still love it! It's larger than most. I have teens who frequently would heat up the whole oven for a frozen pizza or other small item, and now they prefer the toaster oven. Also, I buy cookie dough and they will bake up a small sheet in 10 minutes and it does a perfect job. It's a big hit. We don't use it for toasting, but for a couple slices of garlic bread, it also does well.

You get what you pay for. - ConstantReader - Alaska
I had a Delonghi Toaster Oven for many years, and used it constantly. When it finally stopped working I read the reviews and thought I should try a different brand. Big mistake. The Hamilton Beach is priced right, but it doesn't do most of what a toaster oven should do.

First, if you just want a small oven to bake or broil, this works just fine, as long as you read the directions and understand how the on and off dial works. The only negative about the oven part is that the tray that comes with it warps when it gets hot. It shouldn't do that.

As a toaster, this hardly works at all. Unlike my prior toaster oven, this is designed so the bottom elements heat up before the top ones. That means bagles need to go cut side down, so it is hard to know when they are done. I have learned that when the edge starts to burn, the middle will be almost lightly done. In addition, because the top turns on later, melted cheese on toast is quite difficult to make.

    Toaster Oven - David H. Rust -
The Hamilton Beach works well for a reasonably priced oven. I have found that I have to adjust the temperature a bit to get foods to cook correctly. All-in-all it works fine.

    DON'T BUY IT! - Grandma 10 - Massachusetts
I owned this product for only 3 months and all the heating elements died. The only thing that will work is the fan. I called the office (warranty) to have it replaced and I was going to have to pay to have it shipped to them to have it repaired and/or replaced. I don't think I should be responsible for paying for a product that lasts only 3 months and end up spending just as much money on shipping as I would to replace it! The company is not very helpful in resolving the problem. I will NEVER purchase another Euro-Pro again!

Worst "toaster" "oven" ever! - Mia Kenig - Portland, OR
About a couple of weeks after buying this toaster oven the convection fan started to rattle when in use. And not a low subtle rattle either - it was very loud. Then soon after, the door started to rattle due to the vibration the convection fan made when it rattled. I had to put a spoon in the door to at least prevent one of the noises while using the oven. The oven never really toasted at all and barely cooked very well. The elements never got red and so the broil never worked either. I couldn't wait to get rid of this toaster oven and now have a better one that actually functions.

Fine convection oven and burner of toast - Traveler - New England
I've been using this "toaster" convection oven for well over a year now and can say without hesitation that this will NOT function well as a toaster. If you need a small oven to function as an oven this will work great. The convection function (air flow) helps with that.

Like all "toaster" ovens in this class, the problem is primarily the egg timer. That's all it is. It's a mechanical timer that has to be twisted enough to go through its full cycle (to zero and then ding). If you don't do that the oven shuts off and never reaches the end of the timer. Problem is, you end up burning your toast. A LOT. This toaster has sent more slices of bread to their grave than I can count.

My recommendation: Don't get ANY toaster oven unless it is an electric timer that precisely measures the cooking time. These egg timer models are worthless as toasters.

  • This is a great little toaster oven! Heats up pretty fast and even, toasts pretty even & not too slow (about 3 - 4 minutes for medium) and broils such things as fish sticks and chicken nuggets quick and crispy. And unlike MANY toaster ovens, the door closes tight. Love the removable crumb tray and adjustable rack. My last oven was a B&D and it lasted 12 years. In reading many toaster oven reviews I am amazed at the number of people that really don't understand what a toaster oven is for. It's pretty simple. If you want fast toast, get a toaster. If you want to bake great, use a large oven. Toaster ovens are for those in between jobs. And this one has performed great for the last 4 months.

disappointing - Erika A. Nygard - Ma., United States
Had this toaster oven about a year and the top elements don't work anymore and so I can't toast. I don't recommend this oven. It has an annoying hyperactive tick as it toasts, and it never really did a great job with toasting - I should get a real toaster - it did a fair job baking although hard to know what the real temperature is as the dials are not particularly accurate. I have decided that for my needs, my gas oven does a great job baking and broiling, and so I am going to get a real toaster as that is what I used this device for the most.

ALL GOOD - Leslie Atherton - US
I bought mine at MENARDS for .99 04/10/2009
and it works very well for just about anything
like pizza, steak, hamburgers and casseroles.
I like to toast my bread for a sandwich or hamburger/hotdog buns
and it does not toast evenly, the back gets toasted before the front.
but just rotate the rack and it ok.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! - Bolyengirl - Ohio
I purchased this toaster oven because I owned the previous model and loved it. This new one was such a disappointment! The old model had a push on and off buttons. This model had a dial. This was the huge downfall on this model! The dial constantly sticks and burns everything unless your watch over it the entire time and manually force the dial to the off position. If you check other sights for reviews of this toaster oven(like I should have done in the first place) before buying this toaster oven you will find that there are MANY people that have the same problems and more. Bottom line DON'T BUY THIS TOASTEROVEN! Big waste of money and time! I will tell you though I just recently purchased an Oster 6058 6-Slice Digital Convection Toaster Oven and so far I love it. I've had it for about a month and a half and no problems so far and I've also seen really good reviews for the Oster Toaster Oven from others on other sights.

  • I'm VERY bummed that they don't make the spacesaver toaster ovens anymore. We love ours so much that we bought one for a friend who was getting married and for my parents. They love it as much as we do. We all have our toaster ovens mounted over the counter so that the toaster oven can stay accessable.

Hood without an oven - S. Lambert -
I purchased the mounting hood for my father for Christmas. It is now 4 months later and we cannot find a B&D oven to fit it. The hood will only fit models TRO1000 - TRO4000 but they cannot be found anywhere. The hood is useless without the oven

    frustration - Barbara F. White -
This item is useful only if you are able to find a toaster oven that works for it. ANd expect that search to be hard-- long, frustrating, and almost impossible.
Then try to mount the hood and connect the toaster oven without adequate instructions. It is again a huge and frustrating task. I had to use a dremel tool to take off two flanges that were in the way and no explanation for their use.

I have used this for years - Linda L. Whitman - KU Jayhawk area
I had the oven and mount and when it was dc'd had to find another (backup). It is perfect for toasting and reheating or as an extra small oven. Like it under the cupboard so I still have the counter top surface available.

  • Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks, this versatile toaster oven-toasts, cooks, broils and reheats a variety of foods. With the rotisserie heat is applied directly from the side and is great for preparing meat, pork and chicken. Enjoy your favorite 12” pizza, casseroles or whole chicken cooked to perfection right on your countertop.

  • I bought this three weeks ago and have used it almost constantly since. It is terrific for baking and broiling small portions. I like the speed, push-button convenience and the ability to watch
how the food is cooking through the glass door.
Since I'm trying to lose weight, I was looking for a convenient way to broil and bake more foods and this was my solution. (The broil function in my oven isn't working plus it felt inefficient to heat up the whole oven for one small piece of chicken etc.) I'm also using it to roast vegetables, which it handles beautifully.
I haven't tried the rotisserie or convection features yet.
I'd recommend this as an oven replacement for a small one or two person household.

Good, But.... - Susan May Pelto - Pueblo, CO
We've had this device for several weeks now. We've used it for baking, rot is, toasting, but not broiling as of yet.

    Here are the observations:

[1] Good device for all intents and purposes.
[2] Needs improved control of the toast function. Set to 3, the toast is too light. Set to 4 it burns the edges. Instead of 7 settings. Make it 20 settings. You can afford to pay your programmers that much. It would only be a few lines of code and a more flexible circuit. I'd rather have the flexibility than years of improperly done toast.
[3] The rot is has issues with whole chickens of 3 pounds and up. They need to be trussed up in a corset of string to avoid contacting the drip pan
[4] The beep on the machine sounds too much like the smoke detector. I can live better without thinking there's a fire in the kitchen. Change the sound to something else.

    Regards,

    Chuck Pelto

Toaster Oven - Sue Fuson -
This is the BEST Toaster Oven I have even owned. I love that it turns off when the timer goes off. This way you can't burn your food incase you forget to take it out of the oven. It is a perfect size and works great for everything I have tried.

Nice Product - D. Moczalla - Dallas, TX
It is a nice product, unfortunately it needed to be returned because it was a gift for my mother. She was disappointed because she does not have the patience to program it and had too many buttons for her. She just wanted a dial for the temp, on/off switch and a button for the rotissierie.
