  • KitchenAid Countertop Oven - Black Reviews By Customers
  • I've been using this little oven for 3 years now and I think it's great. I cook toast in it, bake fish, reheat left overs, make cookies, cook chicken and generally anything I can fit in it. I have found it very handy and end up not using the big oven very often. It cleans up easy, it's useful, it looks good and I would recommend it to anyone. We got ours on sale at Macy's for three years ago, so be sure to look around for a good deal.

    Failed 3 times! - Xavier - NC
I bought this oven because I wanted to upgrade the old Black and Decker that we had. It looked good: famous brand, stainless steel, sturdy, what could go wrong?? My first impression was that it didn't heat as fast as the old B&D (which for just toasting bred is annoying). I will not repeat some of the other flaws already mentioned in other reviews. To be brief:

1st unit -> After 7 months it stopped working, no power light!
2nd unit -> The timer kept going directly to zero
3rd unit -> The power light went dead again...

The one positive thing is that Kitchen Aid has replaced the oven each time very quickly, so great customer service. I'm pretty sure I'll get the 4th unit soon but this time I'm selling it for cheap on craigslist or giving it away!

This oven is just about looks but there's nothing inside (nice shape but no brains). It's not a serious oven to bake anything (quiche, cake, etc...) even when it works!

My recommendation: If you're looking for an oven for simple tasks (toast bread, reheat dishes) I would go with something smaller such as Black & Decker CTO6301 6-Slice Convection Toast-R-Oven, Stainless Steel. And if you're looking for a real oven that can actually cook pizza, quiches, pies, etc, then spend more money and get a Breville BOV800XL The Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ!

No wonder KA retired these toaster ovens - Unhappy with KA - Chicago, IL
I also owned this toaster oven and I was very disappointed. The first one broke after 6 months (no light, no power) and Kitchen Aid replaced it with another one which I only used for less than 2 months before it died again (no light, no power again!!!). I called Kitchen Aid customer service and they told me that since they no longer manufacture(No Wonder)these toaster ovens, the best they can do is give me a coupon off any of their corded appliances. What a joke! Kitchen Aid further informed me that they might come out with another toaster oven at the end of the year...well, good luck with that one, I thought...no more Kitchen Aid toaster ovens for me!
